– COVID 19 / CORONOVIRUS –
It was the COVID pandemic which prevented Coptoberfest 2020 from happening, and we’ve all fingers crossed that it won’t prevent us going ahead this year.
To make visitors as safe as possible, we will be introducing certain protocols aimed at keeping surfaces (and glasses) clean, as well as other checks upon entry. More info to follow.
– Previous Festivals –
2021, we hope, will be our 7th festival after missing out 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. As of September 2021, we fully plan to go ahead with 2021’s festival!
All being well, this is what you can expect..
We usually have around 30 cask beers and ciders but may reduce numbers slightly this year as capacity in the church will be reduced. However, we will (as always) ensure the selection is great.
The ever-popular prosecco bar will return along with the gin bar too.
Pie and peas, courtesy of Ged Bell, will be available and each night a variety of bands and vocalists will entertain.
To date, Coptoberfest has raised over £20,000 for charities and good causes in the Copmanthorpe and surrounding areas.
The main beneficiaries each year are St. Leonards Hospice (Tadcaster Road) and St. Gile’s Church (Copmanthorpe) with a variety of others too.
If you represent a local charity or good cause, please contact us to state your case and the Coptoberfest committee will review each and every request. We can’t say yes to everyone unfortunately, but we certainly do plan to return in 2021 for more fundraising, and great beer of course.
We’ll be looking out for kind sponsors again – our aim is to get each and every cask sponsored which means we can help more local charities and good causes.
